“Sometimes I think my head is so big because it is so full of dreams.”   — John Merrick

Set in London in the late 1800’s, this is the moving, powerful play based on the true story of John Merrick.  He seems doomed to a life as a sideshow freak, due to badly disfiguring bone and skin diseases–until Dr. Fredrick Treves takes him into his care.  From an object of pity, Merrick slowly transforms into a respected member of elite society.  His ultimate dream, however, is to become a man like any other
