The Chequamegon Theatre Association Children’s Theatre Camp
“Jack and the Beanstalk”
Prairie Fire Theatre is back this summer to direct CTA’s
Children’s Theatre camp July 31st-Aug 5th.
The week-long program will culminate with two performances of
PFCT’s original musical-“Jack and the Beanstalk”.
Travel up and down the beanstalk as Jack tries to save his village, meeting many characters along the way. Children are needed to play the roles of: Jack, his Friend Jessie, the Villagers, the Birds, the Orchestranians, the Trolls, the Goose, the Harp and the Cow, and the Carnies. Two professional actor/directors from Prairie Fire’s staff will direct the production and play the roles of the Ringmaster/the Giant and the Storyteller/Lucia the Giant’s Wife (dual role).
Registration will be limited to 40 participants It is suggested you pre-register with Ashland Parks and Recreation or you may come to the Rinehart Theatre on Monday, July 31st at 12:30PM.Auditions for specific parts take place from 1:00PM-3:00PM. Once the cast is selected some of the characters may need to stay longer. Your child’s rehearsal schedule for the rest of the week will depend on the part he or she receives. Specific schedules will be passed out after auditions. Rehearsal times will fall between 12:30PM and 4:30PM on Tuesday -Thursday. On Friday, rehearsal will begin late afternoon and will last right up to the show time. Ages 5-18
